Remember my first trip to Wal-Mart? Well a friend told me that he had never been to the wonderful world of IKEA! Can you say road trip!? It's off to IKEA in Palo Alto!

Hopping on the furniture was fun but I think the best part was noshing on a grand meatball-and-crepe lunch for about $13:

Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce,
fabulous almond-chocolate-butterscotch torte,
spinach & cheese crepes, and a cinnamon bun

I guess after that adventure it was only right we do something I don't really do: hiking in the woods. I mean, coming from San Francisco, where the hell are the woods? Do you mean Golden Gate Park!?

No, we went to Wunderlich County Park by Woodside. Saw a lot of redwoods...

... even a baby deer and her mom, but my old camera couldn't catch a clear picture of them. Drats!

Anyways, I think I did pretty well... hiking 2 miles uphill in sandals while avoiding horse poop is a great accomplishment for me!
