a bomb-ass name

last night was CONCERT NIGHT!

What's the best way to prepare? By nourishing myself with deep-dish pizza goodness from Little Star Pizza on Divisadero!
don't forget the beer!
Just look at the height of this number, as seen on my friend Cabbage's plate. Ordered the Little Star (some sort of concoction of spinach, mushrooms, red sauce, and mozzarella.) Mighty tasty but I think next time I'll return to the meatier toppings. You know, since I'm already eating deep-dish.

Then it's off we go, two blocks down to The Independent...

where awesome salsa-reggae-hip-hop band Bayonics almost stole the show...
these guys are an awesome sound machine
and the dancing was equally spectacular... the guy in the white shirt can put Chippendale's to shame!
But Bomba Estéreo came out full throttle in all their fluidly hypnotic and heart-pounding cumbia-with-a-dash-of-electronica madness!
Simón working it out
fantastic Lili on the mic. LOVE her style!
"Niña rica," "Juana," "Raza," and "La Boquilla"... raging time.

Several other pluses for the night:
  • when a fellow fan spilled his drink on my Cabbage's legs, he went all the way to the bar and back to bring her napkins! Big props to the cool crowd!
  • The Independent has clean restrooms with four - count 'em - four stalls. THANK YOU!
all venues should maintain the essentials like this!
¡Qué locura!
