Flag Day was this past Tuesday, and if you didn't have enough reason to celebrate, well you might figure out one more...
Got quite a few goodies at work...
2 dozen cupcakes from Cupcake Cove,
including the super tasty Brown Bottom - good even without frosting! |
My teammates took me to
Focaccia on 1st Street at Market! Finally, I've seen with mine own eyes the source of the best focaccia bread outside of Italy!
towers full of fresh and buttery focaccia! |
the exterior blends in with all the important-looking skyscrapers... probably why I always passed by |
oh yeah, the hot food is pretty good... my skirt steak was really tender.
But for me, it's all about the bread. |
And after a long day at work, it was off to Mumsy's to celebrate with friends and animals!
lucky that roses are the flowers for June |
just getting started... salmon-cucumber hor d'oeurves and Korean bulgogi skewers |
jello shots, because friends care! |
crab dumplings |
coconut shrimp! Mumsy really outdid herself! |
sorry Q-Tip, they didn't have the flag for Cuba at the party store :\ |
beef wellington! mac & fontina cheese with bacon! |
a happy cat makes for a happy party |
I much prefer to eat in for occasions so you don't feel rushed and you can linger at the table, talking and nibbling and laughing the night away. In a restaurant, you can't laugh, fall, decorate, eat, and gab as you please... well, I suppose you could try but you might get escorted out.
Big huge thanks and hugs to everyone who made my day special!
