what would you do for a burrito and a cookie?

That depends... from where shall these items be procured?

Had a confab with my friend Cabbage over carne asada burritos at her favorite burrito spot, Papalote on 24th Street... this place has famously defeated el douchebag Bobby Flay in his Throwdown series, garnered high praise from the editors at 7x7 magazine, and - most importantly - owns the secret recipe to a very tasty salsa. This salsa appears to have a touch of cream but it's not just for gringos... it's plenty spicy for most.

carne asada super burrito... drool
Love the steak, love the cheese, love the flavors and of course, love the salsa. This burrito is huge and is one of the few that require me to use a fork and knife. And I owe it all to Cabbage, who introduced me to Papalote.

After we stuffed ourselves silly with this ambrosia, we decided to catch dessert at this great little cookie place you may have heard of... Anthony's Cookies on Valencia, just a block away...

cackling hysterically with the good fortune of cookies & cream cookies
Love the simplicity of this place - just cookies and milk, and coffee for those who need it. We first came here for the cookies & cream cookies (a heavenly mix of oreo and sugar cookie) but we return for our favorites: she favors cinnamon spice, I adore the toffee chip.

We tried to mitigate the side effects of our blissful gluttony by walking down Valencia to the 16th Street Bart station. Waltzed around a few adorable boutiques of stationery and gifts and ended up snagging a dress for myself... I should've resisted, but how can you say no to kissing fish?

great color combo and print + flirty cut + peekaboo back = cute dress
¡pescados besando!

The fun never ends... I'll see you at the ballpark tomorrow when the crew collects a few Brian Wilson Chia pets!
